Hello - Saw this article in yesterday's NY Times about a football plebe's experience at West Point: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/06/s...ak-from-plebe-year.html?_r=1&ref=ncaafootball. Our son is at Kings Point and does cross country and track, and it struck me that when he was a plebe he made a similar observation to the cadet in this article - sports gives the plebes a break, because when they're with the team it's not about the regimental system but about the team.
BTW, WP ran rings around all the other teams at their opening cross country meet last weekend. At least Kings Point ran second.
