BGO contact

I am just curious at what point the BGO contacts the candidate? My DS has been in constant contact with his FFR from West Point since he first applied to SLE .
My son is attending NASS and has not heard anything from his BGO. Is this normal ? He did try to contact someone who was listed as the BGO for our area and never heard anything back.

My DS was contacted about 10 days ago. It was not the "full official interview" as I understand it. Just an initial contact advising of the BGO's contact information. The BGO told DS that they would have more contact in the fall.

ETA: the BGO contacted DS by e-mail, then they spoke over the phone a few days later.

I normally don't contact students until at least June -- after NASS. There is no set timetable -- some contact early and often and others are later and less frequent.
