DS had his BGO interview last night...all 3 1/2 hours of it. It was challenging and exhausting, made more so by the fact that the BGO gave incorrect information about USNA and the nomination process (example: "You should consider joining the reserves so you can apply for a VP nomination") and did not come prepared (his interview sheet had someone else's information on it, and he told DS that he should have sent a resume - which DS has done twice). DS did as well as he could, but is concerned that he won't get a good write-up. His application is 100% complete otherwise, and he received an email from his AC asking when he would do his BGO interview, so this is the last piece. DS "shows well" (4.3 GPA, heavy AP load, 32 composite ACT, 4x varsity/2x captain, plays year-round on a top-10 club team), but I guess we just have to trust that a BGO's report won't scuttle an applicant unless there are huge red flags. Upside: it was good preparation for his MOC interview in a few weeks - that will be a piece of cake compared to this!
