What is the Big Bad Basic Competition on the last day of JV?

side note:
8 more days of BCT and remember how long everyone was looking to I day which seems so long ago.
The soon to be C4C's have come so far, but still have a long journey ahead

Big Bad Basic is the pugil stick championship, basically.

heh, I was big bad basic back in the day, for the women at least. It was a good deal, since I won my squadron competition, I got to go first running the assault course, and none of the cadre would bother me, because they wanted me to save my energy for the big bad basic competition, which was after everyone finished the assault course. The pugel stick fighting was actually fun. Here is a link with some pics and an article:

from webguy :
And the Big Bad Basics are:

Female - Victoria Perkins of Interceptors!

Male - Dana Luebbe of Flying Tigers! (6-3 240lb DE) kinda makes sense

My son will be excited that Dana won! He is from his squadron, BlackJack 21. I love the pics of my son standing next to him - my son is also 6-3 but only 175!

Congrats falconchic! What a great memory to have! Just wait until your 98 years old in a rocking chair sharing those pictures with your great grandbabies!!! Woooohooo! :thumb:

So Big Bad Basic is an individual event. What is the Jack's Sweepstakes that the Cobra's won?

Dana Won

Dana won BB Cadet. Dana played football with and against my son in Collier County Florida growing up. Congratulations to Dana!!!!!!! I emailed his Mom and she is online looking at pictures. It is a long way from Naples Florida to the Academy. My son is also there but he is a Jaguar 39. My son is a little smaller QB and SS.

Again Congrats to Dana,

Mike Thomas

GO CLASS OF 2014 ( Like a Machine )

Onlyplaying,
Its a competition in Obstacle Course; Assault Course; the Run; Pull-Ups; Sit-Ups; Knowledge Test; Football-like Obstacle Course; Rifle Drill. (per Webguy)

Don’t make too much sense of it. Size has little to do with it but agility, great hand eye coordination and fast hands win the day. When I was a DI at Parris Island I saw the short runts take out the big bad puppies more times than you would think possible.

point was he is a DE and used to taking hits from OL's and staying balanced add size and for many who have not done anything remotely similar and you would think he has and advantage to come out on top. Put him up against some special ops guys and experience will probably win out.

BBB Dana

Besides being on the football team, Dana was also on the wrestling team at his HS in Naples, Fl. I would think this would give him further advantage. My son's HS had a kid 6' 7" that wrestled and beat Dana going to State of Florida competition and he ended up at Duke on a wrestling and academic ride. My son also is Class of 2014 -- Jaguars and Dana and Mike are hometown friends.
