At orientation, i saw a ton of bikes underneath Vandenberg and Sijan, obviously owned by cadets. I ride quite a bit, and I was wondering when the best time would be to bring out my bike. Or would it even be a good idea as a 4dig?

sure, doesnt really matter. couple of my friends brought theirs out before recognition, no problem

what about brining my moped? They're designated as bicycles with a helper motor and don't require insurance or registration to be ridden, just a drivers liscence.

And also I heard a rumor that once at the Academy we are not allowed to own/ride motorcycles... is this true? (I understand only 1st years can have cars\vehicles)

2digs and firsties can have cars. And yes thats true about the motorcycles.

just had a motorcycle incident in our squad this week.. guy wasnt doing anything wrong (besides owning/riding a motorcycle when he was home), a car pulled out in front of him, and he tried to stop and not hit it and flew off. tons of scars/grafts/broken things.. not fun

So motorcycles are a 100% not good thing once at the academy or just not in the springs? I was thinking about getting a motorcycle license in the little bit of time remaining, would it be worth it then or not?

I don't suggest getting the license since you wont be able to ride one/own one in the next 4 years...you'll just be letting it expire. I think now-a-days you have to pay to renew your license.

ya i was gonna do the same thing, but once i got the appointment and accepted it, my hopes of a Class M license went out the window....not worth the license since it will expire before you can really use it.

nope, cant own/maintain/use one EVER when you're a cadet

you could get your motorcycle license, unless it gets revoked or suspended or you fail to renew it when it expires. one less thing to do in the future
