Hi from alevel of one through 10 how helpful is it to be bilingual? I speak french and english and about to start learning Irish gaelic

Fluency in another language is always a great skill; however, it really depends on the needs of the Army. For example, if you were in the Army now, your ability to speak French might be useful in the current situation in Haiti. Many cadets are studying Arabic, for obvious reasons. Some doors might open to you in your Army career because you are bi-lingual. However, will it help you get in the academy? Probably not so much.

Every asset you can bring to USMA and the Army will help. It certainly won't be a deciding factor by itself, but every bit counts.
