Billet Night 2013

Well, it was more along the lines of "That LITS, he's so sassy to the other people on the forum. It's entertaining." said cadet 1/c CGA Cadet A to 2/c Cadet B.

"Yes" Said 2/c cadet B "but that parent is beginning to move from the realm of entertaining to extremely annoying."

If my memory serves me correctly (though odds are it doesn't) I don't think it started raining til lunch... and it cleared up by 1400 for the class photo.

And not hard enough enough to stop the flyover by the HU-25 Falcon.....uh-oh, shouldn't have mentioned that.....

Both true. LITS can be that "sassy" (which seems feminine to me for some reason) in real life too.

Oh it's fine to mention it. Now ask me if I think because it's tradition that it should be kept? :p

I would take it as a term of endearment. Both T&F and I are looking forward to the next issue of the bulletin.

Maybe "sardonic" or "sarcastic" would be a better term to describe you.

No commentary on your manliness was intended there LITS

My Letter to the Editor will be respectful but fairly direct. I bounced it off a few classmates for a reaction, and they agreed. Sometimes you need a sanity check.

There may be other letters though too.

At least the "unit ball cap rule" is waived for this one evening.

I hate the unit ball cap rule (which Papp brought in after I was already out).

We all hate the ballcap rule... and yes, rumors are true we're not getting ballcaps at all this year.

Oh well... 27 hours and counting...

Baseball team will make Billet Night after all thanks to snow and cancelled flights.......sorry they will miss games with KP....but the 1/C's deserve to be there for Billet Night. :thumb:

EHEM!

Attention to the following announcement on the message boards. I say again, attention to the following announcement on the message boards:

There are now less than 24 hours til the commencement of Billet Night Ceremonies. I say again, there are now less than 24 hours til the commencement of Billet Night Ceremonies.

That is all.

Twas the night before Billet Night and all through Chase Hall, All the firsties were praying, for the snow not to fall. The dream sheets were sent in to the detailers with care, with the hopes that CDR Decker would soon be there.

The fourth class were nestled all snug in their beds, with visions of spring break dancing in their heads, with the engineers in mac, and I at the desk, I had just settled down for a long dutied night.

When down in Leamy there arose such a clatter, that I leapt from my rack, to see what was the matter! Away to the window I ran with a dash, tore away the blinds and knocked my fan aside with a clash.

The beer from the O'club shimmered in the snow, showed the inebriation the night would hold. When what to my wandering eyes should appear, but CDR Decker and 8 detailers drawing near!

Happy Billet Night Eve 2013!

Good luck, firsties. May the odds be ever in your favor!

"The Rule" was in place before Billet Night 2012 as well, but they were still allowed to wear them that night.

Technically they also allowed us to wear our unit ball caps for the remainder of the year after billet night in 2006, even though we weren't at the units yet.

In fact, I can't remember if we did this, but I remember 2004 wearing unit ball caps with their SDBs (or maybe it was trops, while everyone else wore garrison covers), which looked a little weird, but as 3/c, we thought it was so cool.

I loved seeing what everyone got, and the constant reminders.

2011 got to wear their ball caps in trops, too. It's definitely one tradition I'm hoping will come back again next year.
