DS took DodMerb exam last year and is reapplying to USNA this year. In the meantime, he is an AROTC cadet at a state college. They are asking for his blood type. Is there a way to contact DodMERB for his blood type. For some reason, we don't have any record of it.

Thanks

I'm not sure if they type blood at DoDMERB physicals. Mr. Mullen would know. Drop an email..

OR

I know with goaliegirl, she decided to donate a pint at a school blood drive to find out hers (Red Cross will type you). She finished 2nd in the "race" to see who could fill the pint the fastest IIRC.

Contact your family doctor, somewhere in his medical records he has his blood type. I know with all of our kids they typed their blood at birth, so it should be there. From there the doc can fax it directly to the BN.

Neither my doctor, nor my insurance had my blood type. I couldn't donate blood(Over seas mission trips) so I had to go to the student health center. Yeah, it is a pain to pay for it, but I got it next day...

DODMERB does not type your blood...go to the local red cross and give some, and ask them to type it for you like Goaliegirl did

Thank you everyone for your responses. The doctor, nor anybody else, had a record of my son's blood type. He did go to student health service on campus and they did say turn around time was within a day.
