I have decided to wait until after football season to finish my AROTC application due to a lack of time to work on it (as football in central Ohio takes up pretty much all of your time). Therefore I will not have my app in for the first board meeting.... Does this look bad? Will this have any effect on the possible outcome? I realize that missing 1/3 of the board meeting dates is not a good thing, but does this diminish my chances in any way? I've got a strong resume, and feel as if I'm a good candidate, just curious. Thanks!

I'd say a lot of people probably miss the first board for reasons similar to yours, and still get scholarships. So if you are well qualified I wouldn't stress about it too much. Besides, I hear they only award 250 of them from the October board anyway, but that could just be rumors.

DS missed the first board by 3 days. He was awarded a 4 yr scholarship in jan

+1. DS applied to 2nd board and was awarded a 4 yr scholarship and notified Feb.1st.

Do what you're comfortable doing and move forward.
DS applied first board, received 4 year, and then did not have to worry.
