I read in past posts that college applicants are reviewed in February.

I'm wondering if anyone would know approx. when they meet? Beginning, middle, or end of the month? If I have an idea when, then I won't drive myself crazy looking at my son's dodmerb page every other day.

BTW - I tried looking at the past posts during the month of February, and it looked like the boards were either the first or second week of the month. Any and all advice would be great for my nerves.

I wanted to let you know that I now know of 1 who has received appointment. My son also reapplied this year, he is currently nrotc scholarship at vmi -mechanical eng major, called me friday afternoon and told me that his classmate, also at vmi, nrotc scholarship, mech eng major, a maryland resident (we are virginia), 4.0gpa first semester, received HIS APPOINTMENT and would be "transferring" (would imagine that at vmi they consider it transfer - I know and assume this guy does too that he will really start over).
So that's one current college kid - my son sounded geniunely happy for brother rat, but for him it means IF the was a certain time frame for college kids, then what?
Our B&G didnt know how the college kids were handled, so I too have only seen it referred to as a group reviewed in february - it would make sense that they look at them seperately or how would they not end up with majority of plebes from college? As I have stated before, the $$$question is just how many current college students are applying this year? more than past years? As a wise person said, not really important and nothing can be done - I concur- the waiting is NO easier second time around. My son is busy and really very pleased with VMI - its honor code, its military bearing, advisors, most of his instructors - carrying 17.5 hours is keeping him plenty busy for the moment.
good luck to your son - as a past military dependent moving - can only imagine what a tough year your son had 0 glad he has used it well!

Just go ahead and check DoDMERB daily! And the mailbox. And the forums! It's how you get through!

USNA starts looking at college students when first semester grades are in. I would expect it would be around this time. However, I'm not sure they publicize which exact week(s) they review college applicants.

I am a college applicant. My college grades are listed as received on 1/13, and I received an LOA dated 1/28 (which I found out about via the DoDMERB website - letter was received on 1/30 in PA).

Keep checking and Best of Luck!
