BOLC Dates for Class of 2014

For those who are commissioning into the US Army Reserve in May 2014, have you had any trouble getting BOLC dates.

I have a VHR and have sent it in to get orders. I e-mailed the contact at HRC and she said to wait until 1 JAN. This seems so late. Anyone else have experience this year?

The branching board hasn't even taken place yet. BOLC dates won't get figured out until after that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but theoretically the branching board wouldn't affect BOLC dates for NG and USAR Commissionees.

It is unlikely the Reserve G1 can assign BOLC dates until the Branching/Accessions process is complete and all known candidates for these classes are identified.

What if the board determines you are not to be commissioned at all? Not likely, but it has happened. What if the board determines you have a contractual obligation to AD, like AD Green to Gold and it slipped through your Cadre/CCIMS? That isn't the case here.

The school assignments aren't likely until all/most candidates are identified for NG, AR, and AD. You are correct that the BOLC class assignments are executed independently for each but they don't have unlimited slots. Reserves may even have units identified as priority for 'qualified' company grade officers.

If you have the Reserve contact that schedules BOLC follow their guidance.

If your talking NG and USAR, you could be waiting a while before you find out dates.

The AD commissions still need to be determined and figured into the BOLC schedule.

Are you on guaranteed reserve scholarship? Because I'm guessing you're not and that's why you can't get it scheduled. Even though you have a VHR and put in for reserves doesn't mean you are reserves yet, you still have to be accessed into the reserves. So until you are they can't slot you. If you're on a guaranteed reserve scholarship then you should be able to be slotted for a BOLC today, I saw those guys getting signed up for slots at LDAC. Don't worry too much, just wait till then and keep on your HRC till you get a slot. I would also look on ATRESS and see what class you want to get and send him/her an email with that date.
