Should appointees buy and break in their boots before in processing?

You may want to do a search for this topic. It was discussed recently and the answer was no.

    Look for BCT Boot thread.

Yes - search the forums on this one. There are new guidelines this year and they will not reimburse boots or allow you to use them.

There isn't any need to attempt to buy boots prior to I day. In the past, some appointees purchased boots at orientation. Now that orientation has been cancelled, that option is gone so don't worry about it. The boots that are worn now don't require any break-in so you can just get them at I day.
