Are you issued boots for Norwich/Citadel or do you have to buy your own? What colors now that the Army is changing over to the different uniforms? Any suggestions? Thanks

I know that the colors are changing. When are the changes going to be made? Do you know?

Changes are being phased in for Army. For Norwich Corps of Cadets, at least those already there, they continue to wear the tan, however, at some point I would think they will say "get the new color". So....once you have decided where you are going, I am sure they will either issue new guidance for your class, or you can ask.

I have emailed to uniform store supervisor to ask about this. I will post the reply if I receive one.

ok. Thank you very much for doing that. Please let me know when they reply. It'll be interesting to hear what they say.

Me too since I already bought the cold weather boots for my son to break in this winter.

I heard back from Norwich Uniform Store Manager, she said;

There will be no changes in the boot requirements for Rooks.
The boot required is the 8" desert tan field boot.

$ Ouch $ - The wear out date for the UCP ACU on Active Duty is 30 September 2019. This includes the sand boots, sand tshirts, and ACU's you will be issued.

You are caught in the transition and this Senior Military College will use up existing inventory for new students. When you commission in 2020 you will be required to have the HW and Temperate Climate boots in coyote brown color and the newer OCP pattern ACUs. The class of 2019 is caught up similarly.

Good news - it's a small drop in the bucket if your schooling is paid.

DS has 4 yr AROTC scholarship to Norwich. When DS went to CIET last year, his ROTC unit issued 2 pairs of tan boots. So he has those in addition to the 2 pairs we purchased (both brand new,Belleville, temperate, on ebay for dirt cheap). The ones we purchased are beginning to show some wear, but really have no plans to purchase more before he graduates(2 more years after this). I am sort of hoping when he goes to CLC next year (2017), that maybe they will issue the new pattern ACU and Coyote boots! Wishful thinking, but one can dream!
