boots!?!?

i got a questions here.
can you purchase the low quarters from the west point cadet store through phone?

thanks

Yes, you can call the cadet store and they will order the low quarters for you. I called just the other day and they were very helpful. Their phone number is 845-938-2121.

2 different PX's locally did not have either the boots or low quarters.

So ended up fitting both at local surplus stores, but buying through AAFES. The Cadet store is also an option but as of last week they were very low on stock for the low quarters. (They did happen to have my son's size, which AAFES had on backorder).

Both the AAFES and Cadet store were very nice and responsive. If you call AAFES you'll need to press * to get authorized as cadet SSN's are not in their system. They have a list of incoming cadet's and SSN they refer to.

On the boots, we never found the bellevile Kyhbers, but did find the 310's and Bates in a local surplus store.

DS really preferred the bates, and from holding both in hand I tend to agree. (I even tried on some of the bates, they were quite comfortable).

The Khybers are a more aggressive sole/boot than the 310's, and are more similar to the Bates M-8's in sole design. etc.

One thing DS liked about the M8's was the loop laces vs eyelets, and the locking "hooks" where the boot transitions to the ankle. It allows you to get the lower part over your arch laced at the tension you like without them loosening if you run the upper lacing looser.

Supposedly the 310's are the lightest, though I could not really tell a difference in hand. Both are light.

Consistent feedback from the PX's and stores was that you need to buy smaller for the bellville 310's.

DS ended up 2 sizes smaller than his running store fitted running shoes, so be sure to get fitted. He ended up with the same size for both low quarters and the Bates M8's, and almost exactly what the brannock size device indicated.
