Boots?

Hey everyone. Quick question. I know some people say not to buy boots before BCT because they are relatively easy to break in but I thought I'd buy some anyway and get used to them. I bought Belleville 690's. Is it recommended to run in these boots to break them in? During school I have an hour and a half off and I'll do some PT outside (running, pushups etc...) I know you get issued running shoes during BCT. Therefore, is it a good idea to break in the boots with some running or normally just walking around with them everywhere and breaking them in that way? They kinda feel weird when I ran with them a little today but maybe I'm just not used to them. Thank you

I'm most likely gonna buy these, I trust this Brand- (Football Cleats, Baseball Cleats, Running Shoes have all delivered when it comes to performance), plus if you look a the sole, they kinda look like Nike Free-Runs... which are awesome running shoes. But anyways, the reviews are nice, and if you're like me "Look Good, Feel Good" than these are probably the best. Just Do It.

Suggest you do not bring these to I-Day. You can have shipped when allowed (generally after parents' weekend). You will be issued everything you need (with limited exception of some prescriptions, etc-- Go over the list carefully!). Everything else you will be required to carry all day, and then it will be taken away anyway.

BB, the appointee kit says specifically to bring one pair of boots and recommends Belleville 650 or 690. There was no mention of Nike, so I agree with you there. Bring exactly what is listed and nothing more. You will be issued everything else you need.

We tried to order the F650 for DD this weekend but found no sizes above 5.5 on their website. A call to customer service first thing Monday morning revealed that Belleville is discontinuing the 650 and F650 so our only option will be the unisex 690 Flight Boot unless you are lucky enough to find one remaining in stock that will fit.

If I read the appointee instructions correctly, "ABU boots and boot socks will be issued upon arrival; however, appointees may purchase their boots prior to entering the Academy...All incoming cadets will be issued sufficient boots to ensure that they have two (2) pairs of serviceable boots for wear during basic cadet training.", they are not required to bring a pair of boots, but can if they want and the boots meet the specifications.

Although Belleville, directly, does not seem to carry an abundance of sizes for the F650, I have found several other websites that might, with quite a variance in pricing:

http://www.americanequipage.com/bellevillef650womenswaterproofcombatbootusaf.aspx

just heard via email from a representative from Belleville that the 650 has been discontinued and that the replacement is 690. It meets usafa requirements.

Deal Alert - Magnumbootshop.com has the belleville 690 for $151.95 with free shipping. These are the cheapest I have seen them anywhere. They are normally $207. Check https://www.bellevilleboot.com first for the f650 or 650 they are there for $97 and free shipping. They only have a few sizes left, but if you DD/DS is lucky and can fit into one of the available sizes you will save more than 50% off of the regular price.
