Braces

okay, my son's physical is next week and he still has his braces on. They were elective but they will not be removed until November/December.

Anyone have experience with this? Would it be easier to wait until they were removed to have the physical so we could have orthodontic records (on the ready) reconciling the issue?

btw, my son has already left messages with his RC regarding the braces. We will wait to see what he says too.

I'm surely not knowledgeable on this stuff, but it seems to me that if braces were a big problem the academies would not be able to fill a class. I suspect it is more a matter of having them off before training starts.

JMS is right, they just need to be off before I-Day. If he gets a DQ or a remedial, all they will want to know is the expected date they will be removed. It is not something I would worry about at all.

We printed a form from the DODMERB site that we took to DD's orthodontist that stated that her braces would be off before I-day. We submitted the form to DODMERB and did not have any further issues.
