Branch switch

Hello all, new user here. I am a MSIV who just recieved branch :FA on a branch detail from AG. I am desperately looking to switch to either OD or QM, and have been told I can do a one for one trade. So, if anyone is interested in FA and wants to switch, let me know!

Are you serious? You can just find somebody who wants your Branch/Detail and switch with them? Does it have to be somebody who looks just like you and you just switch identities (kind of how twins pull pranks on people)?

I realize I shouldn't joke about this b/c it is a serious situation for you, but I find it incomprehensible that two cadets could just swap Branch/Detail, but I guess anything is possible.

Is it too late for you to ADSO for what you want?

Yep...it's possible, and yes it is too late to ADSO.

Of course there are a bunch of approvals that have to be signed off first for that type of switch.

Back in the stone age when I was in the service we had a deal where you could switch duty stations, just find someone that was doing you exact job somewhere else and had the same time in service left and you could make the switch. Believe it or not, that's how I got to Hawaii, the other person wanted to switch because his wife was stationed in the city I was in, different service. Not sure if they allow that anymore.

I have a friend who got QM who wants to drop it, I'll ask him and PM you.

Yes you can switch, military.com and some other forums have dedicated areas for new LTs to swap branches/duty stations
