I would imagine this is a result of the superior job that was done with LDAC by Cadet Command this past summer.

Brig. Gen. Peggy C. Combs – who took command of USACC and Fort Knox on March 6 – was promoted to major general by Lt. Gen. Thomas W. Spoehr, director of the Army’s Office of Business Transformation.

Combs is the 11th commanding general of USACC and the 85th commanding general of Fort Knox. Among her duties in these roles, she oversees the development of future Army officers, ensures the care of Soldiers, their families and Army civilians on Fort Knox, and helps to enable the readiness of all units on post.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

She was actually supposed to be promoted awhile back, like around June/July, but it's been delayed since then, so I bet she's pretty relieved now. I knew a few people that were at Knox over the summer for CST and taking part in her ceremony when she walked out and said it was cancelled/postponed. Spurred quite the rumor mill amongst those there (not amongst cadets as many of them had no clue the ceremony was happening) but I won't speculate any of those reasons on here.

That was my first thought as well, JCLEPPE. Have to give her some benefit of the doubt...I'm sure most of the planning for this summer was (or at least should have been done) prior to her taking over last March.
Still, the corrective actions taken as response to problems that surfaced as Regt. 1/2 went through the course were sometimes worse than the original. By Regt. 9/10, her staff gave up and just cancelled everything...

I meant to add this in my last post, but about planning for all the CST last summer, I think some folks from 1st BDE took a hit for it not necessarily BG Combs, although it doesn't reflect well to her bosses I would think. 1st Brigade has responsibility for planning and executing all summer training.

There are cadre at my school still talking about how much fun they had at Knox last summer...

DS said when something goes wrong at his school the saying is "Gosh Darn It Peggy". Only in more colorful language.
