Hey my Dad brought up the topic about his bronze star and said it might help me get into West Point. I haven't really read anything that confirmed this so could someone help me out?

Is your father retired from the military? That can help you gain a presidential nomination. A Bronze Star alone won't help. There are also nominations for kids of disabled vets. The nominations stickie will shed light on these types of noms.

    Nope, doesn't help.

What does: a parent with a Medal of Honor, 100% disabled or deceased veteran, or active/qualifying reserve service/retired military all earn a candidate a nomination.
