So, share your sweet stories here.
Here's mine (it's short, but still brings a tear to my eye):
Today is grandson's second birthday - cutest toddler out there! But, with son in AF, we don't get to see them often, and now, with a second child who is six months old, what time this small family has is limited. My two spinal surgeries in four months limited visiting and even electronic communication. We managed to spend a week, our entire family!, together at the seashore in September and spent lots of time with grandson at the water's edge, in the pool, playing games, etc.
So, today, while he was eating his Mac n Cheese (Mac Chaweeztz!) lunch, I skyped with him to wish this wonderful two year old a happy birthday. He said right away, "GRAM!!" (OK, first tear!) As we talked, he remembered a little poem we'd practiced during our week at the shore (2nd tear). He said "Dad go plane" (and I knew his dad was away flying that C5) (3rd tear).
And last, "I rub yous, Gram!"
I'll be back after I go get that box of tissue. Life is so darn good sometimes! And that little boy has no idea how much he is loved.
