BTE arrived Christmas Eve!

My side of our family was over Christmas Eve. I saw the BTE in the mailbox and impatiently waited until everyone was there to say, "Victoria, we didn't check the mail today." Here's the pictures:

She's going to her hairdresser on Saturday to make plans for "the hair cut". I have stopped telling her it grows back.

Making plans is OK. Way too soon to cut it though!

I agree - she's not cutting it yet (at least not for regulations. now for it to be good enough to donate to locks of love or some other place.), just planning. Oh the drama of cutting girls hair.

DD (USNA '17) waited until ~1 month before I-Day (and after her prom) to cut her then-very-long hair for the first time, and donated to Locks of Love. She got used to it for a few weeks, and then had another trim to regulation a few days before leaving for Annapolis. At intake, they waved the scissors over her head. In retrospect, she probably cut off more than was necessary (many of her female classmates had longer hair during Plebe Summer), but some might say that it is better to be conservative than sorry and hair-butchered

During I-Day 2009, one of the new, male inductees refused to get a haircut during processing. His Naval Academy career ended before it started. It's pretty obvious he never wanted to be there in the first place.
