I wish to get my DD a printer that takes ink refills sold in the C store. Can anyone advise what types of ink refill cartridges available for sale there?

I simply bought my son the printed I wanted to get him. A good one. And I included 2 sets of extra ink. Then, I knew it would last at least til Christmas. Then we regrouped on if he needed more ink, and we restocked. Actually during spring break. They don't take up much room. Inkthat is.

Purchased DS a laserjet printer with an extra toner cartridge which lasts much longer than ink. That was his preference.

Thanks for the suggestions. They all are good. I will ask her what type of printer she wants; why I didn't I think of that!

The C-store may be convienient...but the AAFES (military exchanges...stores) supply system is strange...over the years I have seen outdated stuff with high prices...and usually not what you need.

However the cadinks of today have something we old farts didn't...the internet. Amazon and others are very good at shipping what you want and quickly.

And for the record, I threw out my inkjet the last time it failed me, and replaced it with a color laser printer and a B&W laser printer, that together cost about what the ink jet did originally.

...however don't the cadets have access to networked printers?

Yes, there are networked printer(s) in each squadron but that requires the C4Cs to leave their room to go out into the hallway which is a bit inconvenient and also opens them up for additional training opportunities by the upper classmen.

Also...they ALWAYS seem to break when something needs to be printed...so even as an upperclassman, the printer is really nice to have, just so there are multiple options when that paper is due and the printer is jammed. But yeah, going in the hallway, especially towards the beginning of the semester, is not a good time. What would normally is a 30 second trip could take 15 minutes if multiple unfamiliar upperclassmen appear :)
