Does anyone know when the Senators from California conduct their interviews for their respective nominations?

I received an email from Senator Feinstein's office inviting me to interview for a nomination on December 7th. I'm not sure when Senator Boxer's office is conducting interviews, but I would assume it's around the same time.

My DS also received an invite for an interview with Senator Feinstein's office on December 7. Does anyone know how many interviews they will conduct? Do they only do them on one day?

I called the number on Senator Feinstein's office and was informed that they notify 20 top candidates between December 1st and December 30th for interviews. That total represents the aggregate for the various academies. They also mentioned that they coordinate with Senator Boxer's office and the various Congressmen as they try and get as many Californian's nominated as possible.

DS did get a call tonight for an interview with Senator Feinstein tomorrow.
Hope it goes well for all of you interviewing too!

Does anyone have any idea how and when Senator Feinstein's office will let those interviewed know if they were lucky enough to get a nomination? Do they let you know either way?

They notify candidates via a phone call between Dec 1st and Dec 31st. As noted previously they only notify the top 20 candidates that don't have a nomination from another source. They do NOT notify you if you are not being interviewed. That's my understanding based on a conversation I had with a staff in her office.

My DS interviewed this past Saturday with Senator Feinstein's office. He was told he would hear back in 2 weeks if he received a nomination.

Hope this helps!

Yes! That helps a lot. Now I know we will hopefully have an answer one way or another by Christmas and be done with the awful waiting! My DS also had an interview on December 7 over the phone. Were any done in person or were they all over the phone? Good luck to you all!

My son received his nomination from CA-45 tonight. It was dated Dec 9th. Good luck to everyone and it's definitely tough having the patience to wait for the news.

Has anyone heard anything -- phone, email, snail mail, anything -- from Senator Boxer's office?

In case it's helpful, I think Sen. Boxer might notify CA Candidates either by tomorrow or this weekend. I think this may be the case because I recently sent in some things to be added to my application and Sen. Boxer's staff told me that they had to have all application updates received by December 13th.

Thanks for the input. It annoys me (far more than DS) that the senators do not send some kind of reply to applicants...a "thank you for applying, we are reviewing and will select a few applicants for interview" type letter. Just seems that would be a normal professional response to kids that want to serve our country!

My son received a call last night from Senator Boxer's office for his interview. When they learned he had already received his nominations, they said they did not need to interview him since he had already received one.

Thanks for that update. Did your son get his nomination from Senator Feinstein or from your congressman? All this waiting is driving me crazy! My DS's interview with our congressman is not until January! He had an interview with Feinstein's office but no word either way so far. Good luck to you and congrats on the nom!
