California Appointments

Anyone get their call yet? This is nerve racking waiting for the call....every time someone sends me a message I jump. :rolleyes: 10 1/2 hours to go!! :eek:
 
I'm still waiting for the call too. Yeah, I start getting anxious when I keep thinking about it. It's hard not to when you need to listen for the call.

I got a call from them. They basically tell you they're gonna call in 10 minutes. However, they also ask if you've received a nomination from any other source. And if you have they say that you only need one so congrats on that one, you don't need to interview with us.
 
Really?!? I have one from my congressperson but I have no idea if it is a principle nomination or anything..... I cleared my schedule today for nothing!!????

I just had my interview. They ask you if you have already received an Air Force Academy nomination. They told me if I had received one from my congressman, then there would have been no point to interview me.

Also, the interview wasn't bad. Very short, and most of the questions what you would most likely expect. Apparently we'll find out in two weeks whether or not we received a nomination.
 
Sad... I just got the phone call.... Wouldn't even have me interview because I have a nomination from my Congressman.:frown::confused:

Wow you must have gotten your call right after my interview. Sorry to hear that, considering you technically have a better shot at getting in with two nomination sources.
 
Yep, I think it was right after yours....
Thanks, yeah I just wish I hadn't been hear all day only to hear "Sorry we cannot interview you"....
I hope you get a nomination!

I must have done ok, because I just found out that I received my nomination from Senator Boxer today. Has anyone else checked their online application to see whether they received one or not?

My son received his nomination from Cong. Ed Royce, 40th district, in December, via snail mail. We did not even try to get another nom from the Senators bec. they say you only need one. We are waiting to hear from USAFA.

Has anyone from CA received an appointment to USAFA yet?

Makes me glad to live in Kansas. I have 2 noms and probably could have gotten a 3rd if my second congressman would have done nominations this year. I bet it is super competitive to get a nomination, let alone an appointment!

I got mine too! high five! :p

hahaha

i was scared as hell cuz i didn't get a nom from my representative. But then Boxer's came in just a few hours ago
