Camoflauged Uniforms

The cadets wearing the ACUs in the stands also made it easy to distinguish the Cadets from the Keydets.

Many moons ago when I was a VMI cadet, I attended a conference at West Point (it was called "SCUSA," I believe). At any rate, I was there with a classmate, and we were first classmen at the time (we had some stripes). We had to wear our Grey Blouse uniform (which, from a distance or at quick glance, looks like the USMA Dress Grey). I recall some of the USMA plebes walking by us, with many echos of "Beat Louisville, Sir" (or something like that) being said in our direction as they passed by. I was a little embarrassed.

Truth be told, I would have much preferred to have worn a blazer with a VMI tie or something. I know my classmate and I didn't want to cause confusion.

I see I am out numbered but I like the ACU football uniforms.

Vampsoul - like you, my son was pleased to wear ACU's and boots to the game instead of dress gray and low quarters. Much more comfortable. :thumb:

Me too...I love the camo football uniform.

But on the other point, DS usually wears his mascot uniform at the games....
Since his dear old dad was in the Marines, I explained to him the problems with volunteering :shake::yllol::biggrin: I've just got to get AF to bring him up to speed on that stuff...lol

BTW, the ACU is light years ahead of the camo we wore in the Marines back in the late '70's! Back then we were all pee'd off we just missed the sateen uniform!

Uphill...both ways....barefoot....in the snow....with dysentery....and an indian arrow stuck in his arm....and that was just to get to the latrine!

Tell us, Maximus...was it really that cold at Valley Forge?

Do the patches rip off easily with the velcro? Like, could you run through the woods and your patch would just come off?

And like mentioned earlier, I don't see why the flag needs to be on velcro as well.

Happened a lot during land nav in Beast. Many people lost patches due to branches and what not running through the woods. Then again, it's still pretty hard to lose them (I didn't lose any).

They just had the SCUSA thing a couple weeks ago.
