Is it possible for a 3YR AD to do any summer training before their sophomore year? (Before contracting) My DS would like to go to Camp Buckner next summer, but I'm not sure they will send anyone who is not contracted.

Also, how do you get to take advantage of summer training? Application? Grades, APFT scores? Just wondering what the process is.

    Thanks

What did his Battalion tell him about going to Summer training before he contracts? It's probably going to take an exception to policy, and he will have to compete for available slots. Grades, PT scores, and participation will probably the criteria to be competitive.

Obviously, I don't know what his Battalion told him. I haven't had a chance to ask him about it yet since he is so busy with this first week at school. That's why I am asking here, for my own knowledge.

    Thanks for the information.
