I'm studying in Philippines for IB diploma, I'm still in the first year.
I want to join USNA but I'm currently not American, but I do have American stepfather. I want to work for US Navy in the future, but will it be possible for me? Can I join USNA with IB diploma? And what can I do to join USNA?

Any advice would be appreciated

The IB diploma itself isn't really a factor other than IB being an advanced program (the IB Diploma itself won't get you into USNA but it can help on the academic front). Every year there are several dozen international students that attend USNA (based on the USNA Catalog).

You must be an American citizen.

International (non-US citizens) mids attend through a completely different selection process.

In the interest of international and Navy-to-Navy relations, up to 60 students from certain
foreign countries may be enrolled at the Academy. The Department of Defense selects and notifies
the countries that may nominate candidates. Selection of nominees to attend the Academy is made by
the Naval Academy International Admissions Board in late April.

If you are not an American citizen, completion of a Preliminary Application is not necessary. Information
concerning application procedures for foreign nationals may be requested from the Naval Attache at the U.S.
Embassy in your home country.
Contact the American Embassy for more details on applying as a non citizen.

Thank you so much

Will it take long time to apply for US citizenship? I have American father.
Which would be a better option, apply as US citizen or non US citizen?

It depends....

Here is the USCIS website address: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

I don't think your step-father's citizenship can help you unless you are adopted but, the rules to obtain citizenship in the country are quite complex. If you have a biological father who is a citizen, there is a different route outlined on the above website.

Take your time and investigate your options for both US Citizenship and the USNA. The serviceacademyforums.com have been a treasure trove of info on what not to do as well as how to best prepare yourself for your best shot at any one of the academies. Most of the questions my daughter has had were answered within the forums.

Good Luck with IB, the best is yet ahead.
