Prep Programs
USMAPS and Civil Prep scholarship are two different things. MAPS is reserved for those candidates WP can benefit from and academically DQ’d. There isn’t application process for MAPS.
Civil Prep scholarships are awarded through the Association of Graduates (AOG) for USMA, as an example. Depending on the year, about 40 to 50 are awarded a year. After the dust settles from the appointments, WP will send AOG a list of candidates they recommend to have a scholarship offered. There isn’t an application process. The candidates are 3Q’d with a nom but need to have their ACT/SAT polished up a bit more to be more competitive.
Prep schools, there are a variety to choose from. Some are year round programs, some focus on one semester and you finish up at a local college for the second semester. Others are military type program at a community college. I don’t think any credits carry over.
There are two types of students who attend. “Sponsored” and “Free Agent”, but they both have the same wants and needs. Sponsored students have been given a scholarship from a SA and are given a list of programs to attend, like the Falcon Scholarship from the AFA. Free agents are students who have paid there own tuition to attend in hopes of going to an academy.
