There is a place on the candidate activities record where candidates can say if they have won "Awards and Honors" and under that it says "County, City of Local" "National or State" and "Other (Specify in "Remarks" Below)". What kinds of awards would fall under the "Other (Specify in "Remarks" Below)" category? I will probably get National Merit Finalist so I checked the box next to "National or State" and never specified the award(it doesn't tell you to do so for "National or State" awards) but I realized NMF is a much more significant award than something like AP scholar(which is also a "National or State" award but is insignificant compared to NMF). Was I supposed to specify the award in remarks?

Specify all awards and potential candidate for rewards. You have 2000 characters. The remarks block is something to really write up your brag sheet, actually list your accomplishments and things that can be recognized to make you stand out.

Darn, I already submitted it. I only wrote in the remarks block when it instructed me to do so.

No worries. You can always call the admissions office and have them update your profile. Best of luck !

Mention it during your BGO interview. He/she can be sure to put it in the write up.

I already had my BGO interview, but I'll ask him about it.

Send your AC an email about it and copy your BGO.

If other candidates fall into a similar situation:
    (1) Mentioning it at the BGO interview isn't enough. Make sure to draft a letter and have your school official sign it and then email it to your admissions counselor. In the past BGOs have been told that Admissions will not directly accept input from candidates (maybe this has changed) unless there is obvious documentation (i.e. an official certificate).
    (2) ***I see the application instructions now specifically ask candidates to speculate. ***

In the instructions it said to list anticipated awards and achievements, if I end up not winning the award I will contact the admissions people about it.
