I've found myself struggling with some of the events on the CFA, more specifically the shuttle run and push ups. Does anyone have any tips on how to increase repetitions and to decrease my shuttle run time? Thanks.

Probably depends on person and body type. I think the CFA is designed to chalanging everyone. Overall, I think small athletic kids have a bit of an advantage, but it is doable for everyone with hard work and commitment. If I was a candidate, the mile would be the one that would worry me most. My son was worried about the mile, as he is a bigger, kid (6', 175 lbs, muscular), but after training he came within three seconds of maxing the mile. The basketball throw might be the most difficult to master in terms of technique.

To help increase your repetitions, check your form and continue working out. When I completed my CFA last year it did not say Anything about switching type of religions. I.e. Wide grip push-ups to narrow grip. I was able to push out a few more repot options because of that.

For the shuttle run, try different surfaces and different shoes. Also work on how you turn around. Between the three turns you can deduct a large amount of time.

Edit: there are also YouTube videos with great tips and tricks.
