As my son and I are looking over all of the forms for his candidate kit, we are confused about the activities form. There are places to mark for 12 grade activities and officers. At his high school, club officers are not elected until after the school year begins. Only the class officers are elected the previous year, so we know he can put down that office. However, he intends on running for a few club offices. Of course, there is not a guarantee that he will get these. Our question is should he mark the box assuming he will get a position? That seems very presumptuous to me.

It's not really presumptuous. And it's not a legally binding form in a court of law. The academy simply wants to see you involvement in extra curricular activities and leadership positions. Running for and being involved is just as significant at having achieved the position. Especially if you show involvement in that activity in previous years.

Thank you! That makes sense to me. I think that maybe we ( me ...) were looking at it differently. If he marked the form and did not get the office, then his information would be false. On the other hand, if he did get elected then he certainly wants to include the info. I feel better about him marking the activity since you explained it that way.
Arguement between son and mom about forms...Son 1 Mom 0 ....LOL!
