On the Portal, for Candidate Personal Data, in the "Other/Legalities" section it says
------------------------
*Have you ever been a candidate for any of the U.S. Service Academies or Prep Schools? (not admitted)
If Yes, which? Note that you can only select one, but you can explain further in the remarks section below if more than one applies.
USMAPS USMA USNAPS/ USNA USAFAS/ USAFA USNAPS(DG)/ USCGA USMMA NONE
Explain here if you were a member / candidate to one or more of the above.

-----------------------------------
I am not clear what this means.... does this mean for a different application cycle ( not the class of 2017) or do they want to know if you are applying currently to other academies? Because technically, a current candidate to USMA, USNA, and USAFA... but not sure if they are asking have you applied and been denied, at a time prior to THIS year ..... or do they mean are you a candidate now anywhere....

How are you interpreting this question?

thanks

This is just my opinion but...
*Have you ever been (as opposed to "Are you") and
*(not admitted)
indicate to me that they are asking about prior cycles.

Thanks for the response... that is my gut feeling and have been probably overthinking it... but the words "ever" and using "not admitted" instead of denied or rejected just throwing me off... trying to be 100% accurate is causing trouble!
