I am a west point class of 2015 candidate and I have been 3Q'd since mid january and have two nominations in the state of new York. (one senator, one congresswoman). I have been anxiously awaiting an answer for about a month and a half now. I have not received any letter in the mail besides those concerning my qualifications. How much longer do I have to wait? What are my chances at this point? Is it late in the game? Any response will be appreciated.

If you've you everything in (like your 7th semester transcript) then you should be good to go. Mailings for the majority of appointments should be going out this month (along with TWE's I suppose). Appointments will be offered all the way into June with the majority being offered this month. You shouldn't have to wait much longer and nobody can really tell you your chances. The two noms should help though. You're not late in the game, in fact, the admissions game is about to pick up a lot of speed. Best of luck!

Thanks, just browsing through the forums I am finding a lot of conflicting opinions. Hopefully I can get a fat envelope soon enough.

I have heard people getting appointments as late as June...relax and enjoy your last year of high school. You have done your best - everything else is left to God and fate...

According to a post by Dodgers Fan a couple of days ago, one of the Regional Commanders said that 80% of appointments have already gone out as of mid February. I know that March is traditionally the "mass mailing" but due to this year's smaller class size of 1225 and with admissions saying it is even more competitive than 2014 (which broke admissions records) this year could be an exception to the rule.

There's still a lot appointments coming out, though; a lot of vacancies for competitive nomination districts are not awarded until after the file completion deadline of 28 FEB passes.

    Two scenarios -

There were more qualified candidates against your nomination vacancy, at this point the admissions office has good picture on which candidate will fill which vacancy. So you might have defaulted to the national waiting list. This is most difficult as you will be competing against several hundred qualified candidates for so many existing vacancies. This is fluid list as there are many appointments not accepted yet and more than likely won't be accepted.

You could be slated to fill your Congresswoman's vacancy, but there is a competitive candidate that hasn't completed the application. So the admissions office has to wait until the application deadline closes to see if this candidate will complete his or her application to compare you too.

You have an active MALO/FFR in your area, he or she should able to give you an educated guess on which scenario you fall under.

At least some folks should be hearing really soon. I had about 5 candidates in my districts switch to "Appointment Offered" on the FFR website yesterday. The RC said today that the appointments were being mailed out today and people should receive them early next week - these are obviously the vacancy appointments MemberLG refers to. RC also said it was a 72 hour delay so the MOC's could notify candidates in the next few days so some may hear that way sooner! Good luck!

No, it's the website for Field Force Reps and MALO's. It wouldn't be reflected on the candidate portal yet I'm fairly sure but I can't look at that.

Marciemi said districts. More than one district=more than one MOC=5 appointees plausible.

Depending on the district one MOC could have 5 appointees. Look at VA10 or 11 for example. Two of the toughest congressional districts that there are. With LOA's they could easily have that number per year if not more.

Sorry on the confusion - yes, I cover 4 districts, but can see all of them within my state as well. But I do have several districts with more than one appointment - some LOA's, some with Presidential or ROTC nominations, and some already with Supe's noms.

Still no word as of yet. Just 2 nom's and 3Q'd. I know the guy in my district who got the primary nomination, and he told me he just got accepted 4 days ago. Not sure where this puts me at now. Do i still have a chance?

Its not over till the fat lady sings! The great thing about West Point is you have plenty of time! If you don't get in this year and you still want it more then anything apply next year, its what I would have done, find out where your file was week and fix it, just applying a second time around means something! Oh yeah just dont do anything that would DQ you like having, and claiming a baby.
