    How does a candidate update their Candidate Activity Record? And is there a way to access what was submitted--a PDF file of sorts? My D submitted this portion way back in Dec. 2009 when applying for SLS. Since then, she has obtained more awards and accrued additional activites and service hrs. Is there an option at this point to forward an entire resume?

    Follow up to CAR

    I found out how to make changes to the CAR. If you need to know just post a reply--otherwise, I won't take the time to explain unless needed.

    But, I do have another question in connection with the CAR. For those of you who are in the process of applying, if applicable, will you indicate that you attended other service academy summer seminars other than WPSLS?

    i attended the USAFA Summer Seminar along with SLS so i put that in too. Its ok to put stuff like that in. lol, dont worry, they wont look at you any differently if you express interest in other academies

    Definitely put in that you attended both summer seminars -- all of the summer seminars are competitive to attend. Your congressman(en) will also want to know this -- shows that you are looking at all your options. My daughter attended summer seminars at USAFA and USMA. She received nominations and appointments for both. She chose USAFA and is now starting her sophomore year. It cannot hurt your application to list both -- it may help your applications and will show both academies and congressmen that you have some understanding of what an academy involves.

    Hey, sorry for the trouble guys but I'd like to know how to update the CAR myself. I still haven't submitted it yet because I'm waiting on the completion of one more "recognition/award" so to say. At the same time, I just want to go ahead and finish it to compete for that LOA... :rolleyes:

    Also, would I need to write somewhere that I attended SLS or would admissions already have that on file (if it makes a difference that is?) Thanks.

    Updating CAR: first you have to delete the contact--counselor. Doing that resets the CAR form and the contact info. In other words, you will have to reenter the contact info and ALL the info on your CAR. Another email will be sent to your counselor asking them to verify the record. It is your responsibility to contact your counselor and make sure that they respond to the latest email link (current CAR info).

    KidFromNYC, our ALO said not to worry about indicating WPSLS because they have that record in front of them. You may want to indicate that you attended other summer seminars if you don't need that space for other achievements (255 character limit)

    I also had some questions regarding the CAR, so I figured I would post them here instead of creating a new thread.

    Under the section where you list your sports years/letters, there is a text box to list special recognition, etc. reads:
    Sport Remarks (Explain in Remarks and Provide Documentation
    for Years of Special Recognition)

    I was wondering if anyone here knew exactly HOW to provide to them documentation? I have papers stating that I indeed DID receive some awards for my sports, but do they want us to copy and mail them the forms? Or what?

    Also, under the music participation, it already has me down for Choir/Band member and asks me to list the number of years involved. But in the drop-down menu it has a selection available for Choir and Band seperately. Should I leave the Choir/Band option and ALSO add the Choir and Band options again? Or should I take off the combined Choir/Band option completely and just the years I was involved in each seperately?
    I hope that makes sense.

    I too had a lot of documentation for special recognition but for some reason I haven't gotten any calls for it or anything yet. Ask your MALO or call Admissions, because not submitting anything hasn't been a problem for me yet.

    I'm assuming you were involved in both choir and band. On my CAR, I selected the Choir/Band option and then Choir in another category, so I suggest you do the same thing but add band as well. Again, that's the way I did it. If you're still worried go straight to the source and ask.
