I recently turned in all my forms for West Point, and I was just waiting on whether I would get accepted or not, but I get a letter just today, saying that I did not pass the CFA, due to my mile time specifically. However, when looking at my score, I realized that what was printed was 8:32, when in fact I got a 7:32. I did email them back, but I was wondering what I should do at this point to fix this problem. Should I have my PE Teacher call in? I'm worried because it is nearing deadlines and this notice was so sudden, and I'm worried even though I got the scores, a mistake like this can bring down everything I worked for. Has anyone ever gotten a mistake number on their CFA, and how did you fix it?

In addition to the email you sent, have either your guidance counselor or PE teacher call your RC. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

If I was you, I would be going to your guidance counselor as soon as school starts tomorrow. Grab the P.E. teacher while you're at it. Have them both in the room while you call your regional commander and have them talk to your RC to get this squared away tomorrow. Files close in less than two weeks and it's literally getting down to the wire. Good luck and, as parentesq said, squeaky wheel gets the grease.

If I were you, I'd be very squeaky right now :thumb:

Go on line to your app. and resubmit your PE teacher as the CFA giver. Almost immediately they will get the email from the Admissions office that says,

"Sir/Ma'am,

The aforementioned Candidate to the United States Military Academy at West Point has provided your name as the official that will administer the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA). At your earliest convenience, please follow the steps below. This information is required for the candidate to complete his/her application to West Point."

Tell the PE teacher what happened and have them re-enter the scores and state that an error was made on the original test in the remarks section.

Good luck!

Contact your Regional Commander ASAP . There is a good chance that the admissions office might just close your admissions file. Once your application file is close, you can get it reopened but you just lost your spot in the line for the admissions committee review. With rolling admissions, later your file gets reviewed, lesser chance you will get accepted (i.e. less vacancies, especailly you are on the NWL).

Well apparently my PE Teacher doesn't have the original recorded numbers anymore, and doesn't remember at all my scores...but its fine, I just decided on retaking the test tomorrow. I'm confident that I can replicate my scores again haha, and I really hope I make it into West Point!

i would still call your regional as soon as possible just to make sure he knows what is going on. you never know if they might have some sort of little known knowledge that could help you out.

I did call them to let them know I scheduled a retake with my teacher, because he truly lost and doesn't remember the scores. To be honest, I felt a little snubbed that a mistake on his part caused me to have to retake the CFA, but its not taking the test itself thats a problem, because i have no problem getting the same scores (probably even better), but the fact that the USMA Admissions actually believe that I couldn't run a mile under 8 minutes. However, I am very glad that instead of denying me, they sent a retake request. Just a quick question, how competitive is file based on the fact that they would allow me to retake it? Does this happen often?

Retook my CFA today! Scores:

B-ball throw - 64ft
Pullups - 16
Shuttle Run - 8.7 sec
Pushups - 75
Situps - 72
Mile - 7:02

Only improved on b-ball, situps, and most importantly, mile!
