Hello all!

I am a Freshman in the Virginia Tech Corps of Cadets (AROTC 3-year scholarship) who applied last year and did not make it unfortunately. My file is finished and I am currently waiting on the evaluation of my CFA re-take. I did terribly on my first CFA (took it right after my first APFT), and received a note on the portal saying I should re-take it by Dec. 4. I did, and these are my scores:
6 Pull ups (up from 4)
55 Push ups (up from 48)
76 Sit ups (up from 50)
9.3 Shuttle Run (Same)
55ft BB Throw (Up from 52)
6:47 Mile (Up from 7:00)
My question is: Are these scores going to be enough for me to be at least somewhat competitive in this area? Also in general what are the chances for college students re-applying? Anyone else in my boat care to chime in?

The candidate evaluation is 60% academics, 30% leadership, and 10% physical. The 10% physical is based on the CFA. Since it's only 10%, passing the assessment is more important. If you do the math, unless you have two very similar candidates in academics and leadership, the CFA scores don't make a big difference. You can retest with the Regional Commander's permission. Not sure if you passed BB throw or shuttle run - BB throw average for male is 67 feet and Shuttle run average is 9.1. Your CFA portal should tell you if you passed or not.

Reapplicants from college does have some competitive advantage, if they could good on college courses. For college applicants, they add their college transcript, by default a chance to improve on their high school ranking/transcript. Say your high school GPA was 3.5. At a college, you get 4.0. So regardless what formula West Point uses, your high school GPA of 3.5 will be higher when recalculated with higher college GPA.

Hi- how does the portal tell you if you passed the CFA or not? Is there an official notice posted under correspondence or does it just turn green? My son thought it just turned green because it was uploaded/ submitted not necessarily passed. (Although that would
Be great)Thank you!

I had to contact an ALO to find out if I passed. I searched everywhere on my portal but I couldn't find anything that indicated if I had passed or not.
