I did my CFA test on 12/18, here are my scores

    basketball-50
    pull-ups-5
    shuttle-9.05
    push-ups-46
    sit-ups-72
    mile-6:10

I'm a runner so I'm good with my legs, but I'm weaker with my upper body. I did horrible on the pull-ups and a little below average in everything except the mile. I was wondering if I failed the CFA test. My application on the USNA website reads "Complete Pending Review." Does this mean I passed the CFA? If I failed, when and where would I be notified?

There is no set minimum. Nobody here knows exactly how the admissions board determines what is "passing." One way that a lot of people (including me) think they do it is that they consider your CFA score in relation to the rest of your application, I.e. If you've got a 2200 SAT and have a lot of leadership potential, they might look past the fact that you can only do 35 push ups (after all, aren't push ups a cornerstone of plebe summer?:D). I agree with this because my CFA scores were just meh at best and I got an appointment back in mid November without being recruited for a sport.

Also Nick, do you have something set on your account that blocks pm's? I tried to start a conversion with you and the website told me I couldn't

it is interesting to note that the averages for AFA are a little better than at West Point. Not sure why. For example, WP pull-up average is 9 for men, and AFA is 12. The shuttle average is also faster at AFA. USNA doesn't publish its averages, so not sure where they may fall.

I am sure Navy is somewhere in the mix of averages since many apply to muiltiple SA's and use the same score. AFA averages are probably higher because they take the test in the air conditioning (just kidding). AFA may be higher because they may interpret what counts as a pull-up differently. Since many of the CFA's are recorded at summer seminar, AFA scorers may have counted a few that others would not have counted. It happens. Next week the guy/gal counting could have scored differently . With out even looking, I would guess push-ups and pull-ups are likely subject to most scoring variation. Sit-ups would be next. The rest are clocked or taped. Of course elevation can impact scores. If you fall in the mix of averages you should be good on passing. Never hurts to retake and improve your scores. You should be conditioning for summer and improving your run, push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups regardless (plus overall conditioning).
