I have the CFA tomorrow aferschool. my wreslting coach is doing it.

Just wanna know a few tips for what I should do prior to my cfa to get prepared.

Ive done atleast 20 practice CFA's and im comfortable with it.

I would like to know what should I eat for dinner the night before?
Im going to bed early and skipping my workout tomorrow morning so I dont get tired.

Are there any specific foods I should have tonight? fruits?

Bananas, Oranges and Plenty of Water. You should be going to the bathroom a lot. I can't emphasize that enough.

I have only done one practice CFA and at the time believed it was to be a real one.
My 2nd real CFA will be tomorrow during the last quarter of my school day.
Since my lunch period directly precedes my CFA, I will eat something light and non greasy such as salad.
Tonight for dinner I ate lasagna, but any pasta is preferred.

For directly before the test, I would just say to stretch.

Good luck on the test, and I hope we both do great! :thumb:

I haven't taken the CFA yet but I've taken the Marine Corps PFT and as previous posters have said, hydration is key!:thumb:

For dinner, though it may be too late right now, eat a lot of carbs. bread, meat, etc.
Same with any meal up to the meal before the test. And drink about a gallon of water before 2hrs before the test.
If you're taking it after lunch tomorrow, eat a light lunch, drink enough, not a lot, of water.
At that point also, Id suggest anything that would 'wake your mouth up'; eat dark chocolate, and anything that tastes sharp so you'll be focused during the endurance run.

I will be running my mile on an outside track at around 53 degrees Fahrenheit.
What sort of garments should I wear?

Depends on how comfortable you are in cold. But personally, its best to be on the safe side and stay warm. because your muscles function fine when warm. but if theyre cold theyll stiffen up.

and thank you for the input everyone!

I realize these threads are based on opinion with people trying to help. My dad is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with alot of nutrition education. Most of the nutrition advice above is not correct. Nick you may be a bit out of luck trying to prepare for tomorrow. Google Sports Nutrient Timing and see what comes up.For those with more time, seek out a Sports Nutritionist for help.
