My gpa is currently around 88-89 and my sat and acts are in the required range but cutting close. I was wondering if my CFA results could make up for my low grades. I didn't take my CFA yet but practice I hit the maximum for everything
    I am a girl:

    basketball throw 68 ft.
    7 pullups 10 seconds
    50 pushups 52 seconds
    shuttle 8.3 seconds
    situps 95
    mile run 5:54

I had my interviews with the field force rep, scheduled for congressman and senators.

The problem is I am taking the ACTs in december which means (from an Asian household) I won't be able to take my CFA until later. Hopefully my parents will change their minds and let me train, but will it be too late? To receive an LOA, I am worried they will discard my application without me submitting my CFA scores. I know I have the physical, leadership, motivation, and faith but academics are right at the edge. USMAPS?

To sum it up (sorry so long): If I take the CFA after my ACTs will it hurt my chances?
I am willing to do anything to get into this school, which is why I have pushed my ACT test date so far back so I can receive the highest score i possibly can to get into West Point. This has been my goal school since 2nd grade. I can use all the help and tips I can get.

    THANK YOU!

Well I'm just a candidate, so take my suggestions with a grain of salt...

1st I'd talk with your FFR and/or Admissions Officer and/or Regional Commander about it.

2nd explain that you must practice for the CFA. You're parents seem very fixated on success (which all should be). Tell them you must practice for the CFA otherwise you might not succeed (now I have no idea if this is true or not). Explain that, without working out for almost a week, you lose a LOT (I mean, over 50% if I recall correctly) of your overall body strength. Use arguments? I know you probably already did, but perhaps find different ones?

3rd REMEBER STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES ACCOUNT FOR 30% of your Whole Candidate Score. CFA ACCOUNTS FOR 10%. If you have low Standardized Test Scores, you should focus on them, and guarantee you can meet at least average on the CFA.

What I'm saying is, I think it would be wiser to focus on a great score on the SAT/ACT and aim for average on CFA than the other way around.

Good luck on your quest, and I hope I can meet you during Beast!

thanks for your reply! I am studying hard for my upcoming ACT and i KNOW that I can do well :) Did you go to sls? I just want to make sure that when I send in my CFA results it won't be too late because I want them to know that I am 100% dedicated to this school, which is why I may have to push it back to do well on my ACT.
    Thank you!

GOOD LUCK TO THE BOTH OF US!

You should be taking the ACT in Oct as well as Dec. WP superscores the test so the more times you take the test the better. My DS took the Sept ACT and stayed the same in 1 section, went down in 1 and up in 2. He is taking it again in Oct AND Dec to primary focus on the 2 sections which need the most improvement. Being that your overall GPA is not as high as it could be you should really try to balance that out with strong ACT scores. I believe you need to pay a late fee to register for the Oct ACT at this time but worth it if it helps get you into WP. You are putting all your eggs in one basket in Dec if you do not do well.

    thanks for your response.

December will be my third time taking the ACTs

My first one was in June and I did decent on it without studying. So I expected to break a 31 after studying for it. But, that was not the case, which is why I am taking it again in December.

I couldn't go to SLS. I planned on attending the 2nd session, however my mom decided to plan a family trip that month and she thought that NASS was enough to get me used to the cadet life, wish I could have gone. Did you get an LOA yet?

No, but there is no relation between attending SLS and getting a LOA.

    PM'ed.
