I took a practice CFA and these are the scores that I got:

    B-Ball throw- 85
    Pull ups- 14
    Shuttle run- 9.02
    crunches- 85
    Push Ups- 75 (max)
    Mile: 6:45 (Horrible I know)

But how are these scores? Any advice on how to bring them up? Or what the scoring is on them?

That is pretty good. I would say that it is around 400. I am really jealous of your push-ups and sit-ups. Your mile really isn't that bad. As long as your endurance is good, the time doesn't matter as much as how long you can keep it up. Do you run every day? How long in time and distance? How do you feel when you finish?

6:45 and you think that is horrible are you boffing us? Submit the scores you are in a place that other candidates would kill for. You are basically as close to the max as you can get.

    100 is bball
    18 is pullups
85 is sit ups (I think, maybe it is 89)
    75 is push ups
and your runs are close to the max.

I would think your scores are close to the top of the top.
In honesty after being here for 2 yrs, I don't recall too many CFAs like yours.

Those scores aren't pretty good, they are darn (want to say an expletive, but I will reserve myself) good! Great JOB! Just watch, in the coming months as others start posting you will realize how good you did so early in the process. There will be kids asking for advice on how to increase the pull ups from 4 or 5 since that is usually the problem. I would have said if anything needed work it would be your shuttle, not the run. I think the max for that is in the 8 sec range. BUT AGAIN CONGRATS, THEY ARE GREAT!

Thanks. Honestly, it is football that keeps me in shape. But I don't run alot. I probably run about 3 times a week but they are just sprints and stuff. No long distance stuff

Well, I remember my CFA run I did somewhere between 7 and 8 minutes. Remember, 7 is the average, you beat that. I might add that I've got less than a year left at USAFA and my CFA wasn't phenomenal at all! CFA should be the least of your worries, Drew. ;)

Unfortunately you will arrive after Hornet leaves, and I feel sorry for you because he has been so supportive of every candidate/cadet. I think he has never missed an orientation dinner yet in the spring.

Have to give kudos also to raimius and potter fan too because I believe they also were constant volunteers to meet the upcoming class.

You will quickly learn who is in it for glory and who is in it for the brethren. Hornet is the latter...so is raimius, potter and cadcan and bluesuiter! Anybody I missed I am sorry, pm me and I will toot your horn!

Also if you don't know who potter is, she belongs to ds and is the one we joke about having 2 escorts on windy days so she won't fly away and she is a dj on the AFA radio station. There also is Nico, who is an amazing photog and great guy, but I think he grad this past yr.

On that note I haven't seen bluesuiter around lately, is he on summer leave ?

One quick correction -- max for sit-ups is 95. :)

But yeah, your CFA is great. Of course, I'd keep working on it, and try to improve what you didn't max out on, and then you'll be set.

Doesn't really matter since he has 2 yrs to perfect the CFA and is better than most who will post their CFA in the upcoming months

Drew since you have 2 yrs, here's a couple of things to keep in mind.
    1. You can be the best jock, but the CFA only accounts for a small portion compared to your PAR.
    2. Apply for SLS, the AFA looks very highly on that because it shows a longer time frame showing your desire to attend the AFA.

Make sure you prepare for the ACT. Most students don't study for it, at least in my school, and most don't believe it helps at all, but it really does. Get one of those books with a bunch of practice tests, and do a practice ACT once every week or two. It also helps if you don't write in the book, 'cause then you can reuse the tests once you've gone through them all.
Oh, and plan to take it more than once. I took on in October and got a 33, and then took one in school in April and got a 34... most people improve their second time.

So, how good is a 6:31 mile for the CFA?

That is really a pretty good mile. The max is 5:30 so about a minute from the max. Keep running and you will improve.
