Please give me your honest opinion of my current scores. I have been working on this for about a month. I've gotten everything else complete on my application and submitted with the exception of my CFA. How competitive are my scores? I have increased in all areas over time, but I'm not sure if I should go ahead and test or wait . Advice??

BB throw - 65'
pullups- 11
shuttle run - 9.9"
situps- 95
pushups- 61
mile run - 6:04

These are looking really good. Maybe a few more pull-ups, but I think it would be better just to take the test so that your application can be in early. The earlier that it is submitted, the better. The admissions department doesn't start looking at the applications until the 17th (just talked to my admissions counselor), so try to get everything done by then.

Good Luck

There scores are pretty good. I would bring up the shuttle to atleast the low 9's high 8's. Also a little more pull ups and push ups wouldn't hurt either. But looks pretty good. Nice sit ups.

Looks good. Well within the norms of those that have become cadets. Congrats.

Since you have months before the board meets even if you have a pres. nom, practice a little bit more.

I would concentrate on the shuttle, you do want to get it in the low 9's The AFA really does care about running because of the alt.

I would also try to get that bball throw into the 70's. 60's are on the low side. You did great on every thing else!

It should be July, and that is to start sending out LOA's. Remember only about 100 or so are given. At this time if they have 6K files opened that were deemed competitive enough to move forward, it is a very low % number.
Don't think that an LOA is easy, your resume has to be out the door amazing. Many are given to recruited athletes. LOA's are rising in numbers because the SA's know that many candidates are applying to multiple SA's along with "traditional" universities, this is a manner they use to recruit the top tier.

No LOA does not man you are not worthy or even a high level candidate. They also want to keep the allure of the LOA status, by giving every candidate that they think are even in the top 25% it becomes common place and can backfire. I.E. I didn't get an LOA so why move foward, I know I'm not in the top and since each MOC can only have 1 assigned out of their slate of 10, I am already done! When the truth is more than 10% with noms get apptd.

Yes, I realize that Pima. But I also know that it will certainly not hurt to get your application in as early as possible. I did not mean to imply that it was that easy to get the LOA or anything.

Sorry guys

And yes I did mean July (this Friday)

hehe, didn't get an LOA here, I got my appointment in the mass mail in March nearly 4 years ago (WOW!). I'd say I've turned out ok, lol.

shuttle is the only thing below par by any extent. Practice starts and turns on that to improve. My suggestion would be to get these scores posted quickly, still, though. Comes from kid having a CFA scheduled on the following Tuesday and breaking his leg on Thursday last August. Again, this is only 10% of the WCS -

This is why everybody jokingly says bubble wrap yourself. A bad break could cause a DQ.

I aree...finish CFA as soon as possible. My eldest son was ready to take test in September and then broke his ankle. Couldn't take the test until right before deadline. This did not help his chances at all.
