Somewhere I read a thread where the CGA selected their computers; anyone know what type of computers were selected?

Yep, we are getting 15'' Macbook Pros! :) I am so psyched, apparently they decided to break away from Dells and go over to Macs this year.

WOW.... MACs...

Wish we could get her a MAC for NMMI.. but their system says NO to MAc.. its gotta be a DOS machine...

who told you you're getting macs? last we heard they were having a couple cadets test some out towards the end of spring semester

Mr. McMunn told us on the facebook group that we would be getting 15 in macbook pros. What have they issued in the past?

Last year 2012 cadets were issued Dell laptops...my D had hers crash several times during 4/C year. (Part of reason one Christmas present was an external hard drive!) Maybe that's why they switched to Macs

that's awesome you're getting macs. the dells everyone else has are awful.

I love my dell.. and just got a great deal on one for my DD at NMMI.. her brother can have it after she is done if the CGA wont allow her to take it to CGA next year.

I heard macs as well, but I know it only as a rumor

The Dells are pieces of crap; but it isn't really the computer's problem right now (although dells tend to overheat and break randomly) the windows vista is the problem on them. Vista is just a bad operating system with the dell.

I kindof wish they would bring back xp

yeah i dont like dell either. and vista doesnt work with a lot of programs. hopefully vista on the macbooks will work well. Iv heard that vista works a lot better on mac than on a pc

you should have also heard that you can't natively install Windows Vista on a Macintosh unless you're running in a virtual machine ;)

You can also use BootCamp to dual-boot and have a partitioned drive: one part MacOS and one part Vista
