CGAS appointment notification

My DS received the correction email, but no update to the portal yet here, either (as of today, 3/30). We know his will be conditional since he had DQ from DoDMERB, just very curious what we will hear about next steps in that regard. I have searched the various forums, but feel like we are in double limbo- awaiting an official update in the portal AND what we can do/ need to do for the medical waiver (other than having appointments set up, paperwork ready, etc. just in case).

He called admissions and was told his name was on the list that he received an appointment and they person on the line congratulated him saying he had one to the Academy. But we told them this is the first he'd heard anything. Nothing so far in Bear's Den. They said it might be a typo?? Here's what it said:

We have a CGAS gc with other kids who got accepted if your DS wants to get added on instagram, if so pm me and I’ll add him

If your son got accepted for the coast guard academy prep school, we ( other CGAS kids) have a group chat on instagram that way we all get to know each other before we’re at the academy. I was saying if he wanted to get added then you could pm me his instagram and I would add him

Ah, got it! Sorry, I'm really out of the loop on the acronyms. He was accepted to the Academy but got this email first and then the email was corrected later. I think it's so great that you all can connect beforehand on social media!! Good luck to you and thanks for the offer!

If your child has been accepted, they will be hosting several zoom type meetings, that will explain everything and they will gladly answer any questions left unanswered. They hosted a general meeting for all for CGAS and school specific meetings as well.

there’s a group that with other CGAS kids, it’s like 40+ of us. PM your kid social media if you want me to add them to the group with the rest of us
