Just a thought, if your school regularly sends kids to WP, wouldn't it make more sense to go see your counselor who should have first hand knowledge of those that got in and those that didn't from your school. They would be able to give you specific recommendations based on the availability of classes, clubs, sports available at your school with respect to your talents and resume to date and where they think based on experience you need to get to to be successful.

Contrast that with this forum that looks nationally and gives generic advice...or in this case will tell you to go read the stickies that already cover this topic or search old threads where it is discussed ad nausea.

Thank you for your reply. I've already talked to my counselor and he has told me the stats of those who got in from my school...however, like i mentioned before, i do go to a fairly small school so I wanted a second opinion....I wanted a wider audience to examine my stats. Nevertheless, I will make sure to do a bit more research next time before consulting this forum...

I'm confused by what you're saying here. To me, this sounds as if you're saying your school sends 300 kids per year to West Point?? Because I'm almost 100% positive that a single high school does not make up 25% of West Point...

lol. sorry for the confusion. I meant to say that my school has 300 students per grade level. We send 5-10 kids to westpoint every year.

Try to be at least as good as those kids, that's a better indicator than anything people on here will give you.
