I'm a high school junior and will apply for the naval academy in April. I'm going to take the SAT on October 1st. I currently have a 3.9 GPA unweighted, not sure what my weighted is. I have taken AP European History and AP Physics. I am currently taking AP us history. In eight grade I took biology and in ninth I took chemistry. 9th grade I took geometry honors, and normal algebra 2 last year. I currently take precalcus normal and will take calculas next year. I took advanced English 9th and 10th and take college prep currently (level below AP, but not lowest). I will take AP gov and AP economics next year. The rest of my current classes are personal fiance, Spanish 3, and another business class.

For eca's I run cross country and track. I possess a varsity letter in cross country and academics. I'm not varsity on either track or cross country, but my Pr is 1846 for 5k and 513 for the mile. I am the president of the history club and have applied to nhs. I am also a member of the Republican club. I have also done some community service with united way and the salvation army.
How competitive am I, what do I need to approve?

Be nice, Murf :)

I will try to be a bit more diplomatic.

Hunter, (3) separate, virtually identical posts to the same USNA Forum in 14 days is usually symptomatic (in the past) of a Troll.

:director:I will re-state:

You have done nothing (measurable) in the last 14 days to "move the dial". Ask again after the October SAT results and your Fall Semester Grades. As they say in the Sneaker World:

"Just Do IT"

Search the SA Archives ! Everyone from AROTC-dad to Capt MJ have told you what to do !

LISTEN to the advice !
READ the past posts ! Do some work, put in the effort to gain the knowledge. Do not act like a baby bird in the nest, chirping up a storm, anxiously waiting around for Mother Bird to fly back and shove a bug down your gullet !

murf is spot on. No one can give an accurate estimate as we do not know what your entire application looks like, nor know your MOC situation. This plays into things as much as anything in alot of cases. We have seen 35 ACTs get the TWE. We have seen 27 ACTs get the BFE. They want the whole candidate, so volunteer (quality versus quantity), lead things in school, sports, church, volunteering, clubs, etc. Play sports. Take the hardest classes the school offers that you can handle. Take the standardized tests. Look at the USNA class profile and see if you are above or below the averages for metrics and how many of the boxes you check that they report on. None of us can accurately tell you if you have a 38.42% chance of admittance. Even if we could, would that stop you from applying? Keep reading the forum and memorize the USNA Admissions pages you have read it so many times. Just by doing that you will gain a ton of knowledge.
