Hey everybody,
The past few weeks I've been looking over the forums, specifically at other people's profiles, to get an idea of how I look compared to other candidates, and honestly I'm getting a little nervous because I'm missing some stuff other candidates have and while my CFA scores have been okay on my practice runs, I fall a little short on my mile time, shuttle run, and pull-ups. I know there a a ton of "what are my chances posts" and I've looked through a lot of them, but I just wanted some feedback on my own chances.

Academics
-4.146/3.71 weighted/unweighted GPA
-71/548 class rank (my high school has an advanced studies program, which I am in, and there are a LOT of really smart people at my school. The valedictorian is graduating with almost a 4.8)
-Advanced Studies Program
-Have taken/am taking mainly AP and honors classes
-32 composite ACT and plan to take again in about a week and a half
-1290 SAT math and verbal

Sports
-Member of varsity swim team since Sophomore year
-Orienteering Team since Freshman Year (it's basically a mixture of cross-country running and land navigation)
-Varsity letters since Freshman year
-Team Captain this year
-Team won the Navy National Championships last year and I placed 8th overall in the varsity category
-Ran XC Sophomore year
-Did drill team for one year
-Workout and run on my own

Extracurricular
-Boy Scouts (Eagle)
-Boys State Delegate
-NHS Member
-President of school's Young Republicans Club
-NJROTC
-Currently Commanding Officer
-Held leadership positions since second semester of Freshman year
-National Technical Honor Society Member
-Senator in Student Government
-200+ hours of community service
-I have been awarded many awards for leadership, and was the Navy League of Metro Atlanta Cadet of the Year in 2015
-Attended USNA Summer Seminar (was accepted to West Point's, but it was the same week as USNA and I was not able to change it)

I know there are places I can improve, even though I'm currently a Senior and I've only got a little time haha, and I'd welcome any suggestions from the forum community. Also, while I'm posting this to the USAFA forum page, I am also applying to USMA and USNA and if anyone has any suggestions for those I'd love to hear them. I've been watching these forums for a while now and I've seen lots of great advice from the community.

Thank you in advance for any help you all can give me.

The post didn't show up exactly as I though it would. the part about orienteering contains the varsity letters part, team captain part, and national champions part. The NJROTC part contains the CO part and the other leadership positions part.

Jojohn: you look competitive but study, study, study for the ACT. Get as high as possible to make yourself more competitive there. Work hard in school and maybe try to break into that top 10% of your class. As you have noted, continue to work on your CFA. Every single piece of the puzzle counts. Do your very best. Your EC s and leadership/volunteerism seem very competitive. Your competition will also be for a nomination and no one here know what that looks like. Keep working hard, hoping for the best and enjoy your senior year !!

Thank you and I definitely agree that my class rank could be higher. Does the academy take into the account the rigor of one's high school when looking at class rank?

Yes. They consider the school profile, the rigor of courses offered, etc.

While it is prudent to consider if you're competitive, keep your eye on what you CAN influence. Become the best 'you' that you can become. Take challenging courses, find or create volunteer opportunities, seek out leadership in activities you enjoy, keep yourself fit, and enjoy your life. Regardless if you get an appointment, you'll do well. Don't sweat what you can't change and push yourself to YOUR limits.

Keep pressing and best wishes.
