I am currently a Junior in Highschool. I live in Iowa and I am thinking about applying to the USNA. I just want to know what you guys think my chances of getting in would look like.
I took my ACT once last year and I scored a 30. I am taking it again this spring.
I have an unweighted 3.96 GPA.
Nearly all of the classes I take are college, AP, or Honors.
I will be a four year varsity soccer team member and a varsity captain.
I will be a two year varsity wrestler and a varsity wrestling team captain.
1 year student government member.
Spanish Club VP then President.
Founder and President of our Key Club.
Student Ambassador Officer.
Pep Club Officer
SADD member
NHS member

Those are all of the things I can remember right now, if i remember anything I forgot I will add it later. Thanks!

I can't "chance you" Joe....that's above my pay grade young man but I am curious about a couple of things not listed; class rank out of how many? course load e.g. math, English, chem, physics, etc.? Give us some of that.

Right, I should have given you guys some of that. For some reason, my school does not record class rank. I took Alg. 1 my 7th grade year, geometry my 8th, Honors Alg. 2 as a freshmen, Honors Pre Calc as a sophmore and I am currently in AP Calc. I have taken Honors English 9, Hon. Eng. 10, and am currently in Honors English 11. I took Honors Bio. as a freshmen, Honors Chem as a sophmore, and am currently enrolled in Physics. I have also taken AP US History and am currently enrolled in AP Gov.

I've been reading these threads for about a year now, and can tell you that nobody ever actually will give you a percentage, or even will tell you that you are looking solid. Too many unknown factors, and so many things out of your control.

My two cents is that your application looks very competitive, and I assume that Iowa is not an extremely competitive state. If you got a 30 ACT your first time, you will likely improve if you keep taking it. My sons resume looks much like yours, with a 32 ACT, but he got a 29 his first time. USNA only considers math and English scores, so focus hard on those.

Keep pushing forward. Good luck.
