Hi, I know my chances can't be represented by a percentage number to the hundredth decimal place, but I reasonable idea of my chances will probably be able to be deduced from the following.

2 nominations (presidential, congressman)

3.58 GPA

Class rank: 219 of 462 (I transferred this fall so it's my first year there, and it's also one of the better schools in kansas)

SAT: Math 670, Critical reading 640, Writing 560.

Eagle Scout

Boy's state delegate

swimming 4 years (varsity 1)

cross country 1 year

father and brother graduated west point

sister at USAFA

mother went to west point but didn't commit

father taught in PE dept at west point

Can max 3 CFA events, and score above average on the others.

Hey, a fellow Kansan. Good to see another here on the forums.

You shouldn't worry about chances but rather doing what you can to improve your file.

Since class rank and test scores are 60% of your WCS, you should definitely focus on academics. Your rank is fairly low but you still have time to improve that. Also, you should try raising your SAT scores. Also, consider taking the ACT. I did much better on that than the SAT. (Hardly anyone in Kansas takes the SAT unless they did really well on PSAT)

I will try to comment ONLY in comparison to the pool of national appointees (which is of course different from yout slate in Kansas) --

Athlete: About even with other appointees... stronger in APFT, but weaker in total athletic Varsity particiption

Leader: Stronger than the average appointee -- Eagle Scout + Boys State

Scholar:
1) SAT/ACT: a little above the average appointee
2) Class Rank: far below the average appointee. Beyond that, you don't mention math/science, and how far you've progressed in that area, so I can't comment on your course difficulty.

Conclusion: It is too late to make any significant improvement to Class Rank, however, expect to have your 1st semester transcript reviewed with great emphasis. Also, I agree that you should try the ACT, if there is still time to take that. Lastly, you don't mention if you are in a Diversity pool. If so, you're good to go.

I am up to pre calculus, and have taken chemistry biology physics and science of physical creation. I was homeschooled up until my senior year which is why I couldn't do as many sports.

One thing that I would suggest is that you have a good relationship with your admissions officer. Let him/her know your situation and always make an effort to check in on how your application is going. Ask your admissions officer questions as well. The more you're in contact with your admissions officer, the better he/she will remember your name, which also give better chances of them advocating for you. Take the ACT as well. Hopefully I'll see you next year!
