    Hello
Throughout my high school career as a junior at the moment i have obtained a gpa of a 3.0 and i am involved in extra curricular activities such as baseball and track&field also i am trying to get into national tech honor society. As of now with my classes realistically, I am hoping i bring it up to at least a 3.3-3.5 range by senior year and i am planning to take the SAT at least three times before I graduate. I am being as realistic as possible in my situation and considering to apply for the USCGA, USAFA, and USNA with my situation being is there any chance I get accepted to the schools or at least a preparatory school? Thank you

Noone on here has any idea of your chances it's up to the admissions board to decide that. I would recommend getting a least a 3.5 GPA. Try to score a high as you can on the SAT, it's pretty important. However they are looking for a well rounded person, not just strong in one area.

This will help some, but it's more of what you did in those positions. I'm in the same boat as you, I'm also going to apply to USNA, so those who got in might know better. This is just what everyone else has said. Check the forum for similar posts, search stats.

Not to rain on your parade, but your chances are slim.

That being said, you never know until you try. Admissions can be very unpredictable.

With what Maple Rock Said you really need to improve that GPA by a lot.

With the gpa are chances good enough with a 3.3 or 3.4 to get into a prep school?

No one knows. You would certainly be better off with a higher GPA, but don't drive yourself crazy with the "chance me" questions. Do some searches on this forum and you will get a sense of the averages, but no one on this forum can accurately tell you what your chances are, other than to say your chances are zero if you don't apply. Some candidates that seem to have outstanding stats don't get in and some that don't seem as good do get in. If this is truly something you want, do the research and apply.

USNA looks at the whole package, so be the best you can be in all areas. Being a junior, you have some time, but not much. Work on what you can and don't worry about what you can't control. It's an uphill battle for the best of candidates. The good news is that striving for the things you need to do to be a good candidate for a SA will serve you well in applying for all of your other options.

The Air Force Academy has a slightly higher acceptance rate, but not much it may be similar with the USCGA.

I actually have cousins that are in the USAFA one that graduated and one that is currently in the school, could them by recommending me for any SA be a factor when it comes to my application?

Unfortunately, the answer is no. You need to address the issues you've noted and have been commented on. No amount of recommendations, regardless of who they're from can compensate for the academic thresholds that the SA's have outlined.

For the SA that I am applying for which are USNA USCGA and USAFA. As a junior I would like to be involved in any certain summer programs that would expose me to the lifestyle of SA's. I'm aware that USNA and USAFA provides summer seminars but does the USCGA provide one too? Anyway are there any tips I should put in my application that would boost my chances of getting into the SA's summer programs?

I got into USNA before I got into USCGA.

Don't put your full faith in USNA's acceptance numbers.

Look, apply and see what happens. That's all you can really do in the end any way.

Yes, a brief look at the USCGA website can give you this information. I recommend doing some research, Google is your friend. It is called AIM (Academy Introduction Mission)

I say fortunately, the answer is no. Can you imagine all the alumni only recommending their friends and families?
