Zach Smith - You appear to be a Junior in High School since you say you are taking AP courses next year? The GPA is a little on the low side, as is the ACT, but they are not out of the question to be considered in my opinion. But even so, I would encourage you to take the ACT or SAT again in the fall. The Citadel Admissions only considers the highest of the ACT or SAT (and only considers the math and verbal portions). To give you an idea of the average credentials for the entering class of Fall 2015, here are the current averages for accepted Cadets (in-state and out of state) You can find this information on the college web site under Volunteers:
2015 - Currently there are 728 accepted who have paid their deposits for a Class of 700.

1. This year’s average (math and verbal) SAT: 1111 or Average ACT: 24
2. This year’s average GPA: 3.6
3. Minimum Standards: the top 700+ well-rounded students to fill the entering Fourth class.
The above are only the averages - which means some are higher and some are lower than the average - don't be discouraged and give the college Admissions a call and ask for the counselor that serves your area of the country - develop a relationship and impress the counselor with your interest. They may give you pointers to improve your chances. Good Luck!

agree with Glen, I would take the ACT at least twice more and get the score up. You also have time to raise your GPA this fall so they may wait to see your first quarter grades. Bear down and eyes on the prize.
